Dude You are Awesome

Hey friends!! It has been a long time since I have posted a project on my blog that was not a design team project!! At this point I am a member of the Doodlebug Design Team and have one more month left on the Pebbles Inc Design Team. In the past few months I have had to cut down on my crafty responsibilities so I could devote more attention to my personal life. While I am really starting to miss the girls on the DTs, I am enjoying a bit of crafty freedom and able to create what and when it's fitting, with whatever supplies I choose.

For the past few months I haven't been in much of a crafting "mood" but these past few days I am loving being back in my craftroom. I have a few Paper Smooches stamp sets that I love but really haven't had the chance to play with so yesterday I sat down with them and got creative!

I am loving the little dinos in the Cuteasaurus stamp set!! They are so fun to color.

I used sentiments from a couple different sets to create one fun sentiment that would work great for a boy.

I used foam stickers to make the dino and the rocks stand out on the card.

I am entering this card over at this weeks SPARKS challenge over at Paper Smooches. I have a looooong wishlist over there and would love to snag a gift certificate!! Especially since the sneaks of the new releases look amazing!

Here is what I used to make my card...
- Paper Smooches Cuteasaurus stamp set
- Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set
- Jaded Blossom Ticket Dies
- My Creative Time Border Dies

Fun With Doodlebug Vellum

Hey Doodlebug friends!! Candace from Scrappin' 2 Little Princesses here today. I know you have all seen the totally yummy polka dot sprinkled vellum from Doodlebug and I'm sure a lot of you even own some. I have a couple projects to share today using this super fun product!

The first project I wanted to share is a little treat box I decorated filled with skittles. I thought these would be great quick little gifts to brighten someone's day with.

These were super easy to make using some Doodlebug vellum, washi tape and stickers. I cut a long strip of vellum, wrapped it around my clear boxes and adhered the end using a couple small pieces of two sided tape. To add a little more detail, as well as to hold the sides of the vellum in place, I used some of Doodlebug's awesome thin washi tape

My second project is a layout using various colors of the vellum cut in scalloped circles using dies. I find using dies with vellum is a super easy, no fail way to add great detail and layers to a project.

Since the vellum comes in all the great Doodlebug colors it's so easy to find a color or shade to match every Doodlebug collection. I have been dying to use these great mix and match ice cream cones that are part of the Sugar Shoppe collection (my fav Doodlebug collection!) and since I wanted them to stand out on my layout, I choose to use plain white cardstock as my base and vellum to add layers.

Adhering vellum can sometimes be intimidating to some, including myself, so I choose to use regular ATG tape strategically placed on my vellum pieces to hide my tape. Since I was layering a lot of different pieces on my layout, I made sure to place my tape in a spot that would be covered with another element.

Isn't this vellum SO much fun? I can see myself adding a little to almost every project in the future (much like my Doodlebug sequins!).

Pebbles Inc - Father`s Day Treat

The colors in the Americana collection remind me of old vintage Coca-Cola and I thought this inspiration would be a great place to start for a little Father’s Day card and treat. I found a really neat glass cup shaped like a pop can in the dollarstore and made a shape card that mimicked the same style of can.

Since the initial can card I made was fairly plain, I decided to add some interest and detail using some  of the fun elements that match the American Collection, like the printed cardstock shapes. I used some stamps from Jaded Blossom as part of my sentiment then added ‘Pops’ to the bottom with the super sparkly crimson thickers.

Using dies from My Creative Time, I cut out two stars from the 6x6 paper pad and used a clothespin to hold the stars together with a bow.

I thought it would be really fun to fill my matching cola can cup with coke bottle candies.

I used some cone shaped treat bags, also from Jaded Blossom, filled them with candies and tied the bag at the top using some hemp twine and two more stars cut from patterned paper.

I hope my project using Americana has sparked some inspiration for a gift for one of the dads in your life! Happy crafting!

So So Tweet

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing a layout and a fun way to add sequins to your projects!

I love the glimmer that sequins add to a layout and one of my favorite places to add them is onto patterned paper. On this layout, I choose a few colors of sequins that matched my background paper and adhered them to the centers of the flowers with Glossy Accents.

Of course the collection I choose to work with was Springtime because I am so in love with all the fun bright colors and cute little birds!

My favorite thing about Doodlebug sequins is that there is a variety of shades/finishes in each color which makes it so easy to pick out the sequins that match each project perfectly.

The Springtime collection is so sweet and darling on its own but I love the added sparkle and texture the sequins have added! Using sequins on polka dot paper would have another fun effect!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to get out your sequins!

Kinder Grad

It's that time of year again!! Graduations! In my household we're getting reading for Preschool and Kindergarten grads. I am so in love with the colors of the new collection The Graduates

Gold is my favorite right now and I instantly fell in love with these super cute little gold owls.

Since there is so many great patterned papers in this collection I knew I wanted to use some dies to make a pattern on my layout. The gold glitter paper is gorgeous!

I also added some of the new to DIE for glitter sprinkles. These are such a MUST have!! They come in the circles as well as stars and arrows!

I used some foam stickers under my owl to make sure he stood out on top of his books, next to my photo. I also love adding little details, such as sprinkles, to my stickers to make them even more amazing.

This collection was so fun to play with! I hope my layout has inspired you today!

Patriotic Parade Cards

Today I am sharing a couple of cards made with the new Patriotic Parade collection from Doodlebug. Since I am Canadian I wanted to show the versatility of this collection and that it can be used for many occasions!

It's a great collection that can be used year round...

I was instantly drawn to these super cute balloons, which I added little heart stickers to to make them even more cute!

This collection has some really great matching sentiment stickers for occasions other than July 4th, which I love!

I have been so anxious to play with this cute little Doodlepop plane!

I love adding a few sequins to every project and I thought the pretty white ones were fitting in the clouds.

One of my favorite elements in the Doodlebug collections are the Fancy Frills stickers. I can ALWAYS find a place to put them, like along the edge of a layer of patterned paper.

I hope you were inspired with how I choose to use the new Patriotic Parade collection! The color combination is so fabulous and fun to play with!
