Ginger Snap Scraps - So Long Summer

Hey everyone!! Today my post is for the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!

Ginger Snap Scraps

If you haven't looked around the store yet, make sure you do!! HERE Cori has a lot of must have supplies and often has sales for her customers - what's not to absolutely love about that?! :)

The theme of the day is So Long Summer. The end of summer would usually make me sooo sad since I am a winter hater..... THIS year for some reason pregnancy and summer heat has not been a pretty combination. I am SO ready for fall. The only thing I will miss about summer is the cute outside photo opps...

I used the Summer Days Collection by Echo Park for this layout. To check out the products Ginger Snap Scraps carries click HERE. I actually placed an order not too long ago from the store and there was definitely some Echo Park in there! :)

I love the stickers that come with the Echo Park Collections but I love to jazz them up a little by adding textures like glitter, glossy accents, pearls, etc.

I hope you love my layout today as much as I do!! Be sure to head on over to the
to check out more awesome projects from the Design Team!!!

Yee-Haw!!!

Hey friends!! I actually have a paper craft to share today!! Yay!! Today's card is inspired by the sketch over at the Peachy Keen Challenge this week!

I got this cute little cowboy from MyGrafico and used the print/cut feature on my cameo to make him. I made sure that I 'blanked' out his face when I printed him out so that I could add a Peachy Keen face! They are always sooo much cuter than the original faces on the graphics! I used some 'twine' that I picked up at a thrift store to make a lassu. I also added a lot of stitching and glossy accents to make sure my little cowboy was anything but boring! I tore the background paper and inked it with vintage photo Distress Ink.

I used the Everyday Banners stamp set from Pink By Design along with the 'Yee-haw' sentiment from the Cowboy Take Me Away set.

I think that's it!! Hope you enjoyed my card and check out my POST from yesterday for a chance to win a set of stamps from Pink By Design! :)

Busy? Not me! :)

A super happy hello to you all this morning! I have been in such a good mood since I woke up this morning!! I think it could have something to do with the fact that we have been SO busy lately and today we have NOTHING to do!! We can just play and do whatever we want!! It also may have something to do with my hubby being gone back to help his parents with harvest for a week! ;) Not that I don't love him to pieces, but sometimes a little break is nice! He usually works sooo much (a couple days off every thirty days) and this summer his work has been super slow so he's been around a lot more than I'm used to! I know by the end of the week I'll be waiting for him to come home, but for now, freedom!! :)

First of all, for those of you who didn't see me post for the Ginger Snap Scraps Blog Hop on Sunday you may be missing out on winning a great stamp set from Pink By Design!! I'm giving away - thanks to Sarah and Kyle (PBD owners) a Our Teachers stamp set!

Yesterday was the girls' combined birthday party with all their little friends! They are 3 weeks short f being exactly 2 years apart so I thought I would get two parties over in one shot! :) It turned out to be a great day and I think their Rainbow Party was a hit!

I got the idea for the party, as well as the decorations from Pinterest! LOVE that site!! All of a sudden it feels like the world is at my finger tips since I have discovered that site!!!

Inspired by: http://mycharmingkids.net/2009/05/rainbow-cake/

Inspired By: http://www.littlepumpkingrace.com/2011/07/we-do-fun-here-summer-playdate.html

I also made a banner a while back (for my It's a RAINBOW Party Blog Hop

Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to take any more pics of the deocrations... :( I had a cute little jar decorated that held rainbow licorice and lots of colorful balloons, etc.... The party was in two different rooms in a building and unfortunately we got rushed out of the first one rather quickly...

As soon as the girls got home, they dove right into their new dress up clothes they got for their Birthday!! This is why I love having little girls!! :)

I am linking up my rainbow cake and fruit platter to Link Up Tuesday over at Pink Cricut. If you haven't been there before, you really need to check it out! I even had my diaper cake featured there this week! :) There are allll kinds of great ideas posted there for all different types of crafts!!

The paper crafting projects have been a little lacking on my blog lately, but I promise they will pick up again soon! :) I have a projects I need to get posted and I can't wait to show you!! :)

This weekend we will be featuring projects all about Back To School. School here hasn't quite started yet... Especially in my household. Bria, my oldest, is only in Playschool which doesn't start for a few weeks yet. Even though I don't have kids in school yet, I went school supply shopping the other day... :) I saw some great sales on and since Bria LOVES drawing/coloring I decided to pick up some fun things for her to play with!

I think Bria will think these are so fun because they're decorated up! She also loves seeing her name on things so I know she'll be excited about the notebook!

I used a combination of Pink By Design Stamps, Stickles and paper from the Echo Park Summer Days Collection.

I also used a real measuring tape I picked up from the dollar store, some buttons from my stash, Recollections pearls, twine, and an EK Success border punch.

I am entering this little project into the Back To School Challenge over at Scrappy Mom's as well as linking it up to the Ink It Pink Challenge over at Pink By Design!!

Baby Girl Diaper Cake

Hi there! It's been a crazy week around here! I'm kind of looking forward to August being over so things settle down a bit...
I have had all the goodies to make my cousin a diaper cake for the arrival of her little girl for a little while. I heard this morning she's been having contractions so I thought it was a good day to get on this diaper cake!! It's my first one so I did a lot of browsing around to see exactly the type of cake I wanted to go for.  I found a LOT of awesome cakes that people have made!! I didn't want to go TOO overboard since I had already spent way too much money on gifts for the little princesses before I even thought to make a diaper cake...

I used THIS diaper cake from Pinterest to guide me. It's pretty, but isn't overly complicated.

Here's what I came up with...

It was actually pretty fun to make! But, kind of expensive... those little goodies sure add up fast!!

Here's how I made it...
- took diapers and rolled them up, put them in groups of five and wrapped an elastic over them
- once I had six of these diaper bundles, I put a bottle of baby lotion in the middle and arranged the diaper bundles around the lotion
- then I took a receiving blanket, folded it to be the same height as the diapers, and wrapped it around the diapers
- since the receiving blanket wasn't quite long enough to go all the way around, I had an extra set of hands help me to wrap another receiving blanket (same print) around the space that was open
- using safety pins, I pinned one blanket to the other

- for the second layer, I only used bundles of 3 diapers and tied them up with rubber bands again
- I wrapped another receiving blanket around these diaper bundles and pinned it
- the top layer is just a receiving blanket rolled up and pinned
- then I added some ribbon and bows around each layer as well as some fun baby goodies!

I am linking this up over at Pink Cricut's Link Up Tuesday post as well as the My Creative Time's Pinterest Inspired Challenge

That's all for today... I'm ready for a nap.... zzzzzz................... ;)

Look Who's One!

Happy Monday everyone!! I have a couple things for you today!! I'm going to start off with my project - THEN let you know who the winners from the 'It's a RAINBOW' Party Blog Hop are!!! I don't want you to skip over my project to see the winners though... ;)

August is such a BUSY month for us as far as birthdays go... Both my girls are born in August, four of Bria's little friends were born in August (myself and four of my friends were due within three weeks of each other four years ago!!!), my niece's birthday is in August and my cousin (best friend) is due to have her little girl in a week!!!! I have to make more birthday projects in August than I have to make Christmas cards in December!! :)

This project was for my neice, Lailah's first birthday a week ago.

I am sooo in love with print and cut so I used this cute little baby (purchased from MyGrafico) and added some embellishments to make even more cute!! I used some glossy accents on the cake, some Recollections pearls as earrings and a cute little Peachy Keen face (with a blush copic marker for some rosy cheeks).

I used my scalloped circle and circle dies from My Creative Time along with the all around sentiments stamp set. The background paper is from the It's A Girl stack by DCWV.

I wanted to show you how much dimension this card has... It looks great in person because the baby is popped up, then the cake is popped up twice as high.

'It's a RAINBOW party' Blog Hop!!

Hey Everyone!!! I cannot tell you how happy I am to be hosting this 'It's a Rainbow Party!' Blog Hop today!!! I have some SUPER talented and sweet ladies joining me today who are going to blow you away with their projects!!

I have such a great reason to celebrate - my little girls turn(ed) 2 & 4 this month!!

Bria turns four on August 30th... I have never seen anyone more enthusiastic with a greater zest for life than Bria. She is so outgoing and really is the life of the party wherever she is!

Brittyn turned two on the 9th of August... She is our little Princess -  dainty, pretty and girly girl (with the diva attitude to match)!! She is super smart and usually really sweet, other when the terrible twos take over! :)

Now that I'm done introducing (bragging?? :)) about my girls, back to the hop!! :)

I thought this year I would have a joint party for them and invite all their little friends. I've had RAINBOWS on the brain, and Bria and I saw a rainbow cake this summer and from that came the idea for the theme of their Birthday Party - AND of course, this hop!!! :)

First off, I want to tell you about all the BLOG CANDY being given away by some awesome and generous sponsors!!!

*  Flirty Girl stamp set from Pink By Design

Here is the picture we used to inspire us for our projects...

How much FUN is this?!?!

NOW... onto my project!!!! :)

I had to make something for their party (which is on August 27th). I thought I would try my hand at my very first banner!!

I used the Rainbow Party digital paper pack by Lilly Bimble Digitals, Rainbow Pretty graphics by Jessica Wieble Illustrations from MyGrafico as well as my Silhouette Cameo, to make my banner. The rosettes (from the Silhouette store) are cut using Momenta paper.

Now onto my my great friend Jessica's blog - Jessica's Craft Shaque!!!

It's the Cowboy Take Me Away set...

(sorry, not the best pic...)

I colored the heart and the metal piece on the boots with a silver sparkle Gelly Roll pen, but you can't really see in the pics... Has a great effect in real life! :)

- Cowboy Take Me Away stamp set from Pink By Design
- Paisley embossing folder
- American Crafts markers
- Recollections pearls
-'twine' from a thrift store
- Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink

Wishing You A Magical Day

If you're looking for my first post today for the Ginger Snap Scraps DT - Click HERE!!!

Hey guys!! Post #2 for me today!! :)

I finished up this card today and really wanted to get it linked up over at the Scrappy Moms Challenge!!  This week the challenge theme is DISNEY!! I wish I had more time.... I could have made a dozen projects that would fit this theme!!

I also wanted to link up over at the Peachy Keen Challenge! I always love their challenges but lately I haven't been able to keep up with getting projects done in time to link up in the challenge. :( Guess this was a lucky week, being able to get a project in for two of my favorite challenge blogs! :)

Here is the snow white card I came up with for my daughter's birthday coming up..

Isn't she gorgeous?!? I used the a Princess from the Once Upon A Time graphic set from Lettering Delights and the print/cut feature on my cameo. What did I EVER do before I could print and cut??!! :) I added my own Peachy Keen Princess face because I think they are just the CUTEST! :) I also used some Martha Stewart glitter pens to add some sparkle, as well as some glossy accents. The sentiment is from the Pink By Design stamp set - Inner Princess. The white background layer is embossed with my Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and the edges inked with red fluid chalk ink. The yellow patterned paper is from a mega stack by Momenta... Sorry - can't remember the name of the stack!

I used some a red Glossy pen by Sakura to color in Snow White's lips so they would be nice and glossy. I also used a few pop dots to give Snow White some dimension. Notice the beautiful bow?? I used my 3 Girl Jam bow maker to make this little baby... I had a request on my post from earlier today to see how I made the bow so I'm going to try to put together a little video on how to use my bow maker!! :)

Hope you enjoyed my card!!

Ginger Snap Scraps - Anything Goes

Today it's an ANYTHING GOES day over at the Ginger Snap Scraps blog! The members of the DT got to choose any brand carried in the store and make a product! I love having theme days, but sometimes having a the freedom to make anything is so fun! :)

Ginger Snap Scraps

Make sure you head on over the the
to see all the great items for sale. THEN head over to the
BLOG
to see what the rest of the DT has created today!!! TONS of great inspiration - this is one super talented group of ladies!!

Here is my project using Pink By Design stamps (are you surprised that's what I choose to use?!) :)

I decided to make a little box filled with Hershey nuggets for my Mom. She's so amazing and the one person who is there for me no matter what. I made this as a little Thank You for all she does for us!

I used the It's A Wrap 2 stamps for the wraps and then used a couple other Pink By Design sets to make the image stamped in the blank squares. I stamped 'Mom' from the Everyday Banners set, then popped it up with a foam sticker to give it a little dimension.

The little treat box is from Lori Whitlock and came from the Silhouette store. I added a little window in the top and used some "plastic paper" (not sure what it's really called...).

The pretty crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam. I also used the 3 Girl Jam bow maker to make this perfect bow.

Hope you loved my project today! Make sure you head on back to the blog to see what all the other girls have created!!! I can't wait to see!!! :)

Come back tomorrow for my Pink By Design post!! AND make sure you don't forget about the Blog Hope that starts HERE on Wednesday!!!
